DLSZ beats Adamson 97-82 in UAAP JHS tourney, UST tops Ateneo 100-77

De La Salle-Zobel defeated Adamson University in the UAAP Season 87 Junior High School Basketball Tournament with a score of 97-82 on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

This marks DLSZ's second straight win, following their first victory over National University Nazareth School since February 2015 and Adamson since Season 78 in 2016.

Key performers for DLSZ included Tailan (27 points), Magan (25 points), and Luna (10 points).

The team relied on a dominant second-half performance to establish a 71-52 lead after a tie at halftime.

UST emerged victorious against Ateneo with a final score of 100-77, led by Jhon Canapi's record-breaking 35-point game.

Canapi broke the tournament scoring record previously set by his teammate Andwele Cabañero on April 24, 2024.
