DILG: ECQ for Cebu is chance to improve Covid-19 response

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) says reverting Cebu City to an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is not a punishment but an opportunity to improve the city's Covid-19 response.

DILG Secretary Eduardo Año stated that ECQ will facilitate contact tracing, testing, and quarantining of residents.

The DILG also announced it will closely monitor areas under ECQ or modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) due to rising case doubling time and critical care utilization.
