Gov't to probe surge of COVID-19 cases in Leyte

The government will investigate the surge in COVID-19 cases in Leyte, particularly in Tacloban City.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año and National Task Force on COVID-19 chief implementer Carlito Galvez plan to visit Tacloban to discuss with local officials how the national government can assist in addressing the health crisis.

The spike in cases is attributed to the return of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
