Class suspensions due to Tropical Depression Gener in Luzon

Class suspensions were imposed across several areas nationwide for Tuesday due to inclement weather caused by Tropical Depression Gener and the southwest monsoon.

In Luzon, class suspensions affected Infanta in Quezon; Candelaria, San Felipe, Botolan, and Concepcion in Zambales; Pangasinan; and Concepcion in Tarlac.

The Visayas region saw previous suspensions, but no new updates were provided for Tuesday.

Based on the latest update from Pagasa, Tropical Depression Gener may likely make landfall over Isabela or Aurora by Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Gener is moving closer to Northern Luzon at 15 kilometers per hour and was last monitored 240 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City in Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, gusts up to 70 kph.

The following areas remain under signal no. 1: Cagayan including Babuyan Islands; Isabela; Quirino; Nueva Vizcaya; Apayao; Kalinga; Abra; Ifugao; Mountain Province; Benguet; Ilocos Norte; Ilocos Sur; La Union; Pangasinan; Zambales; Tarlac; Nueva Ecija; Aurora; and the northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands.
