DEPDev forms committee to review flood control projects objectively

Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Undersecretary Rosemarie Edillon announced Tuesday that the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) is crafting protocols to review flood control projects objectively.

The RPMC will prioritize a list of flood control projects submitted by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), ensuring an unbiased assessment as instructed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Edillon noted that the committee includes regional line agencies, selected agencies, and private sector representatives to ensure objectivity and prevent witch hunts.

President Marcos also tasked DPWH to submit a list of flood control projects initiated since 2022 for examination during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

Once the DPWH submits its list, the RPMC will promptly report its findings to both the Regional Development Council and the president.
