Jeepneys to resume operations Thursday or Friday

Roadworthy traditional jeepneys will resume operations either on Thursday or Friday this week, according to DOTr Assistant Secretary Goddes Libiran.

Libiran stated that the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) committed to allowing these vehicles back on the roads by then.

Jeepney services were scheduled to restart later than other public transport due to load capacity considerations; UV Express services will begin on Monday, followed by traditional jeepneys within the same week.

The LTFRB chairman confirmed that 30 routes for UV Express will start operating on Monday and traditional jeepneys will follow soon after, in line with DOTR's hierarchy of public transport and approved by the IATF.
