Sen Bato Dela Rosa may go into hiding if ICC issues arrest warrant

Senator Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa stated on Wednesday, March 19, that he may go into hiding if an arrest warrant is issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Previously, Dela Rosa had said he would submit himself to the court's process, but now considers multiple courses of action including possible concealment.

Dela Rosa explained his reasoning: 'If we can't find justice in our country, why give up? If there is a glimmer of hope that the Supreme Court will uphold its independence and if the Senate shows what needs to be done, then I will evaluate.'

He also mentioned running or using connections to hide within the Philippines' vast territory.

Dela Rosa has previously expressed readiness to join former President Rodrigo Duterte in The Hague for trial related to alleged crimes against humanity during his administration's anti-drug campaign.
