De La Salle men's volleyball team wins crucial match against Ateneo, ties for third place

De La Salle University's men's volleyball team bounced back from a loss to win against Ateneo de Manila University in a five-set match, securing a tie for third place in the standings with their victory over the University of the East on April 5.

The Green Spikers' latest win raised their record to 7-4, tying them with the UST Golden Spikers for third and fourth spots after UST swept Ateneo earlier.

In a grueling fifth set that lasted 36 minutes during the match against Ateneo, De La Salle had to recover from two separate four-point deficits before clinching the match in an extended battle.

Coach Jose Roque expressed confidence in his players, especially rookie Mendoza who delivered crucial hits during crunch time and Chris Hernandez who impressed with six points, eight excellent receptions, and seven excellent digs.

De La Salle's next match will be against the University of the Philippines on April 13 while Ateneo will face Far Eastern University to bounce back from their loss.
