Jia De Guzman set to rep PH in AVC Challenge Cup

Jia De Guzman, who recently won a championship with Denso Airybees in Japan, will represent the Philippines in the AVC Challenge Cup from May 22 to 29 at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

De Guzman arrived in Manila and attended Game 2 of the Creamline vs. Petron series on Sunday, expressing her readiness despite limited preparation time.

The eight-time PVL Best Setter last played for the national team in the 2023 SEA Games and is excited to return.

PVL President Ricky Palou confirmed that they will coordinate with head coach Jorge Edson de Brito to finalize a pool of 20 players who will represent the Philippines in the tournament.

De Guzman's experience in Japan, including her victory in the V.Cup and runner-up finish in the Kurowashiki tournament, is expected to provide a significant boost to the national team.
