Duterte: P30.8B Bayanihan grant to aid cities, municipalities

The national government will provide P30.824 billion to cities and municipalities as a one-month Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) equivalent grant under the 'Bayanihan Grant to Cities and Municipalities' program.

This financial assistance aims to help local government units (LGUs) respond to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis, covering relief goods for vulnerable households, personal protective equipment, medicines, hospital supplies, disinfectants, and temporary shelters.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will release this funding, with President Rodrigo Duterte thanking LGUs for their efforts in fighting the pandemic.
