Duterte reverses stance on COVID-19 funds

President Rodrigo Duterte acknowledged on April 6 that there is not enough money to fight the coronavirus, reversing his earlier statement on March 30.

Duterte ordered Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III to generate more funds immediately, telling him to 'steal or borrow' if necessary.

This admission comes nearly four years into Duterte's term and during one of the country's worst public health and economic crises.
