Davao City Mayor Duterte wants to reschedule charity boxing match with PNP chief, challenges him to unsanctioned fight

Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian 'Baste' Duterte has expressed his desire to reschedule a proposed charity boxing match with Philippine National Police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

Duterte cited other commitments on Sunday and offered alternative dates like Tuesday or Wednesday for the event, stating he was not available on Sunday due to other engagements.

In a Facebook video, Duterte criticized Torre's statement that the fight would benefit victims of recent tropical cyclones in Metro Manila, dismissing it as an excuse for holding a match.

He also challenged Torre to an unsanctioned fistfight without cameras and gloves, questioning the motives behind the charity match.

Duterte set conditions for the match, including a hair follicle drug test for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other elected officials before agreeing to participate.

The proposed boxing match initially aimed to raise funds for flood victims but has sparked debate over its true purpose.
