Typhoon Quinta causes P705M agri losses

Typhoon Quinta caused at least P705.87 million in agricultural damage in the Philippines as of October 28.

The affected areas include rice, corn, high-value crops, fisheries, livestock, irrigation, and agri-facilities across Ilocos Region, CALABARZON, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

This figure represents a significant increase from the previous estimate of P401.73 million due to updated reports on rice and corn damage in several provinces.

The Department of Agriculture has allocated PHP795 million quick response fund for farmers affected by Quinta.
