St. Benilde maintains undefeated record with victory over EAC

College of St. Benilde maintained its undefeated record in the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball tournament with a convincing victory over Emilio Aguinaldo College at FilOil EcoOil Centre on Saturday.

Coach Charles Tiu praised his team’s preparation and commitment to excellence, highlighting Tony Ynot’s all-around performance of 16 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

Justine Sanchez contributed 14 points and six rebounds, while Jhomel Ancheta added 10 points for Benilde, helping them stay atop the league ladder at 3-0.

Allen Liwag, who made his first appearance against EAC since leaving the team earlier this year, recorded seven points, 15 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal in 30:37 minutes of gameplay.

Coach Tiu emphasized the balanced attack as the key to their win, noting that it had been a focus even before the season began.

Liwag has stood out with an impressive double-double average of 14.0 points and 15.7 rebounds alongside 2.7 blocks and 2.0 assists in St. Benilde's first three games, earning him the Collegiate Press Corps NCAA Player of the Week award.
