324 COVID-19 patients, staff transferred to hotels, hospitals before Rolly

At least 324 COVID-19 patients and staff from temporary treatment and monitoring facilities (TTFMs) have been transferred to hotels and hospitals in Manila, Pasig, and Quezon City ahead of Typhoon Rolly.

Department of Health (DOH) director Gloria Balboa stated the transfer was a precautionary measure to ensure patient safety during the typhoon.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III confirmed that patients from mega-facilities like Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Rizal Memorial Coliseum, and Filinvest Tent were moved to hotels within NCR.

NDRRMC Administrator Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad noted that tents at these facilities are not designed to withstand strong winds, necessitating the relocation of around 1,000 patients from sites such as Ninoy Aquino Stadium, PICC, Philippine Arena, and Filinvest Tent.
