Quezon City reports 8,589 COVID-19 cases

As of August 16, Quezon City reported 8,589 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with recoveries at 5,982 and deaths at 357.

Active cases numbered 2,149. The city's recovery rate was at 71%. Despite the high number of cases, Quezon City ranked only 16th in the DOH list of cities with most COVID-19 cases per million residents.

On August 13, the total cases were 8,240 with recoveries at 5,756 and deaths at 338. Active cases then stood at 2,045.

The Quezon City government highlighted its good recovery rate and stressed that it has the largest population in the country.
