Filipinos infected abroad rise to 9,757

As of Monday, August 10, the total number of Filipinos abroad infected with COVID-19 is 9,757.

There were no new fatalities reported on Monday, but seven more recoveries were recorded, bringing the total to 5,790 recoveries and a death toll of 708.

The Middle East/Africa region has the highest number of cases at 6,849 with 4108 recoveries and 430 deaths. Europe follows with 1,143 cases including 547 recoveries and 95 deaths.

In the Americas, there are 784 cases with 447 recoveries and 175 deaths while Asia Pacific has the fewest cases at 978 with 681 recoveries and eight deaths.

The DFA continues to monitor the status of Filipinos abroad and repatriation efforts for those who wish to return home.
