Western Visayas confirms 2,518 total Covid-19 cases

As of Thursday, Aug 13, confirmed Covid-19 cases in Western Visayas increased to 2,518 with an additional 109 new cases.

The region also recorded 43 new recoveries but no new deaths were reported.

Active cases now stand at 1,320 while recovered patients have risen to 1,164.

Of the new confirmed cases, 98 are local transmissions, eight are locally stranded individuals (LSIs), and three are returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs).

From July 31 to Aug 7, 33 barangays in Western Visayas reported clustered cases of two or more infections within a two-week period.

Iloilo City had the highest number of clusters with 17 barangays followed by Bacolod City with 11, Negros Occidental with four, and Iloilo province with one.
