QC urges hospitals to submit line list for faster tracing

Quezon City government urged private hospitals and laboratories to submit line lists of individuals tested for COVID-19 directly to the city to speed up contact tracing efforts.

Dr. Rolly Cruz, head of Quezon City's Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, said this would allow immediate contact tracing if they have the list on hand.

Joseph Juico, lead coordinator of the city’s Covid response program, noted that delays in data can cause community lockdowns for 14 days due to spread of infections.

Mayor Joy Belmonte emphasized the need for collaboration between private and public health institutions towards improving data gathering and recording.

Belmonte also called on DOH to provide complete information including addresses and contact numbers of COVID-19 cases, which is currently lacking in data provided by the agency.
