Gov’t won’t ease restrictions yet on religious gatherings in GCQ

Government officials have decided not to ease restrictions on religious gatherings in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) due to the high number of COVID-19 cases.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases will review new data analytics submitted by the Department of Health on June 10, which may lead to possible reclassification of community quarantine levels by June 15.

In areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), religious gatherings are allowed up to 50% capacity starting June 1.
