Chinese man monitored for nCoV dies of pneumonia

A 29-year-old Chinese man being monitored for possible novel coronavirus (nCoV) infection at San Lazaro Hospital died due to pneumonia on Wednesday.

The DOH and hospital officials clarified that initial tests showed the patient was HIV-positive, but there is no evidence of nCoV infection.

Tests are still ongoing to confirm if the man had nCoV, though he exhibited symptoms such as swollen lymph nodes and lung issues upon admission on Monday.
