Cebu logs record-high 353 new COVID-19 cases, no deaths

Cebu City reported a record-high 353 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of infections to 5,494.

Recoveries increased by 10 to reach 2,723 while the death toll remained at 169 with no new fatalities recorded.

Active cases now stand at 2,602. Cebu City continues to have the highest number of infections nationwide, followed by Quezon City with 3,362 cases.

Secretary Roy Cimatu advocates for maintaining stringent quarantine measures in Cebu City beyond June 30.

President Duterte is expected to announce further directives on quarantine restrictions Tuesday night.
