Villafuerte: Senate can't blame House for budget delay

Deputy Speaker Luis Raymund Villafuerte said on Thursday that the Senate cannot blame the House if there is a delay in passing the P4.5-trillion 2021 national budget.

Villafuerte urged the Senate to work on the budget bill during the month-long congressional break so they can approve it immediately once the House transmits it on November 16.

Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano countered on Wednesday, saying that any delay or reenactment of the budget would be the Senate's fault if there is one day difference in submission dates.
