Caraga records 40 new COVID-19 cases, total deaths at 13

As of Thursday, September 3, Caraga region has recorded 589 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 367 recoveries, 209 active cases, and 13 deaths.

The latest update includes 40 new cases identified from RT-PCR tests conducted in Butuan Medical Center and other regional laboratories.

Of the new cases, 17 were local transmissions, 15 close contacts of confirmed cases, four non-medical front-liners, three locally-stranded individuals, and one healthcare worker.

Three additional deaths were reported in Butuan City involving two men and a woman aged between 50 to 70 years old with pre-existing conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

Previously, on September 2, Caraga had recorded 351 recoveries despite an increase in cases, achieving a 65% recovery rate.
