Zamboanga City warns against large gatherings due to rising COVID cases

Zamboanga City health officials are warning residents to avoid large gatherings and celebrations due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, the city health officer, noted that some patients contracted the virus from attending public events.

Miravite advises minimal guest numbers at celebrations and strict adherence to health protocols such as mask-wearing and physical distancing.

As of Friday, Zamboanga City has 435 active cases with a total of 1,331 since March, including 839 recoveries and 57 deaths.

Additionally, 86 healthcare front-liners have contracted COVID-19, comprising mostly nurses and other medical professionals.
