Foreign tourist in Camiguin tests negative for novel coronavirus

A foreign tourist suspected of having novel coronavirus tested negative on Monday according to Camiguin's Provincial Health Officer Dr. Gretchen Cabalang.

Dr. Cabalang assured the public that there are no confirmed cases of the virus in Camiguin as of January 27.

The provincial government is continuing to monitor the situation and has instituted protocols for checking all tourists, especially those from mainland China.

Camiguin recorded over half a million visitors last year, making it one of the country's prime tourist destinations.
