Calabarzon to get 20M COVID-19 vaccine doses by year-end

Calabarzon, the region with the largest population in the Philippines, will receive 20 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines by the fourth quarter of 2021.

This allocation includes 3.8 million doses for September and 17.5 million doses for the rest of the year.

The announcement came after Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla complained about the delayed supply of vaccines in his province.

Roque stated that Calabarzon, which comprises Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Rizal, and Lucena City, can now be prioritized because 50% of Metro Manila residents are already vaccinated.

Remulla highlighted that Cavite needs six million doses to reach herd immunity but is only receiving 4,000 doses daily.
