DOJ: 222 PDLs infected with COVID-19 in prisons

As of June 4, there are 222 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) infected with COVID-19 in prison facilities, resulting in 10 deaths.

Thirty-one PDLs have recovered from the virus, while among BuCor personnel, 59 were confirmed to be infected and four have recovered.

Most cases are concentrated at the New Bilibid Prison with 140 infections among inmates and 30 among staff, while the Correctional Institution for Women reported 82 inmate cases and 18 staff cases.
