DSWD monitors Bising victims, distributes aid

As of Thursday, April 22, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is monitoring relief efforts for victims of Typhoon Bising.

The DSWD reported that over 59,000 families or about 230,000 individuals in Bicol, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga have been affected by the typhoon.

About PHP171,000 worth of assistance has already been distributed to affected families, with additional funds ready if needed.

The DSWD's regional offices have stockpiles and standby funds totaling over PHP80 million for immediate relief efforts.

As of Wednesday night, 4,511 families or 18,603 individuals are taking temporary shelter in evacuation centers across the affected regions.
