BI reports smooth Holy Week at NAIA with over 800K travelers

The Bureau of Immigration reported a smooth Holy Week period at Ninoy Aquino International Airport with over 800,000 passenger departures and arrivals despite high traffic.

BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval attributed the smooth operations to travelers spreading out their travel plans and some leaving earlier than usual.

Throughout the Holy Week, 371,092 arrivals and 432,763 departures were recorded across the country's international airports with daily peaks of up to 51,000 arrivals and 61,000 departures at NAIA alone.

To manage the anticipated surge in passengers, more than 40 additional BI personnel were deployed at NAIA during the Holy Week.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado highlighted the newly operational overseas Filipino workers' wing at NAIA Terminal 3 which helped decongest immigration queues and provided more convenient processing.

Travelers were reminded to fill out the eTravel form before arriving in or departing from the Philippines, and to avoid scams and fake websites.
