BI on alert for Holy Week travel influx

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is on high alert for an expected influx of at least 13,000 daily passengers during Holy Week.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said that with the easing of travel restrictions and the reopening of borders to fully vaccinated tourists in February, passenger arrivals have already risen to between 13,000 to 15,000 daily since a week ago.

To ensure smooth processing, BI has prohibited immigration officers from taking leave during and after Holy Week.
