BFAR mobilizes relief ops for Odette-affected areas

Typhoon Odette caused P3.6 billion in agricultural damage, affecting over 67,573 hectares of land and more than 47,000 farmers and fishermen.

BFAR mobilized its floating assets including the BRP Lapulapu to deliver relief goods such as rice, canned food, dried goods, and hygiene kits to isolated areas in Caraga and Eastern Visayas.

BRP Lapulapu also carried boat repair materials and marine engines for damaged boats, aiming to help fisherfolk resume their livelihoods.

DA reported PHP3.1 billion worth of damage and losses affecting 39,372 farmers and fishermen across several regions with production loss of 90,316 metric tons from 65,432 hectares of agricultural areas.
