OFWs reject Bello's claim they sell blood for drinking

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III's remarks that Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) selling blood in Saudi Arabia do so for leisure spending like drinking were rejected by the workers.

The OFWs, who have reportedly sold their blood to make ends meet after losing jobs due to the pandemic, said they are doing it out of necessity and not for luxury.

Bello claimed that OFWs usually send their entire salary to families in the Philippines, leaving them without money for leisure activities.
