Bataan reports 165 coronavirus cases, new testing lab inaugurated

As of Sunday, June 14, Bataan has reported a total of 165 confirmed coronavirus cases.

The latest case involves a 27-year-old female health worker from Orani town, bringing the number of active cases to 14.

Of those tested (3,305 individuals), 2,830 were found negative and 310 are still awaiting results.

Governor Albert Garcia inaugurated Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center's PCR laboratory, which can process up to 300 tests daily with a 95-98% accuracy rate.

The new lab is augmented by a GeneXpert Rapid PCR machine issued by the DOH and will be joined by another district hospital testing facility in Mariveles town soon.
