BARMM eyes Covid-19 lab accreditation within May

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao's (BARMM) laboratory facility for Covid-19 testing at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center is nearing accreditation.

Personnel are undergoing training as part of stage three of a five-stage process required by the Department of Health.

BARMM has allocated over PHP14 million to CRMC for medical supplies, laboratory equipment, personnel salaries, and maintenance expenses.

The facility will undergo accuracy verification in stage four when RITM sends specimen samples for testing.

Health Minister Saffrullah Dipatuan expressed hope that the lab would be operational by May.
