Philippines' Testing Capacity for COVID-19 Increases

The Philippines has increased its actual testing capacity for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) by 74%, from 5,000 to 9,200 tests daily as of May 15th.

As of May 14th, the country now has 29 certified laboratories capable of conducting RT-PCR and other types of tests for Covid-19.

On May 12th, there were 28 certified laboratories in the Philippines that could test specimens from coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients.

By May 12th, four more facilities had been accredited by the Department of Health (DOH), bringing the total number of testing centers to 30. This includes 28 PCR laboratories and two GeneXpert laboratories.
