Baguio restricts mobility of unvaccinated minors

Baguio City has imposed restrictions on unvaccinated minors aged 12-17 and children under 11.

Starting Friday, January 21, these groups are prohibited from leaving their homes for 10 days unless accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult to essential places with Safety Seal certification.

The city also restricts entry of those aged 14 and below into indoor markets, supermarkets, and similar high-risk areas.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong cited the high number of cases among these age groups as justification for the measures; out of 5,420 total cases in Baguio, 282 were under 11 years old and 190 were aged 12-17, mostly unvaccinated.
