Baguio eyes antigen self-tests for COVID-19

Baguio City is planning to launch this week a pilot program for the use of antigen self-test kits for COVID-19, aiming to speed up case detection.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the city could be a test site for these widely used home testing methods in countries like the US, Canada, Europe, and Singapore.

Testing czar Vivencio Dizon has expressed support for the proposal, which will be presented to the national task force managing the pandemic.

The program aims to inform residents on how to use the easy-to-use home testing kits safely without needing to visit health facilities.
