Baguio suspends new tourist permits over rising COVID cases

Baguio City has suspended the issuance of new tourist travel permits as of January 2 due to rising COVID-19 cases.

The city is preparing new guidelines for non-essential travels, which will be covered in an executive order.

Leisure travelers from Metro Manila who have already been issued Quick Response Travel Permits (QTPs) until January 8 must undergo antigen testing at their own expense.

Baguio has temporarily halted the processing of visitor applications on VISITA, a platform for registering and obtaining QR-coded tourist passes, but previously approved visits remain valid.
