Toby Tiangco tests positive for COVID-19

Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, January 2.

He routinely takes self-antigen tests due to his immunocompromised condition from severe asthma and was initially negative in an antigen test on Saturday but tested positive later that day.

Tiangco confirmed the result with an RT-PCR test.

In a statement, he apologized to those he interacted with recently and urged them to monitor their health closely and consult a doctor if they experience any symptoms.

Despite his positive status, Tiangco plans to continue monitoring and leading Navotas' COVID response while in quarantine.
