Ateneo Blue Eagles clinch top spot with 4-0 win over DLSU

The Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles secured their place in the postseason with a dominant 4-0 victory over De La Salle University, solidifying their top position in UAAP Season 87 men's football.

Dov Cariño scored two goals to bring his league-leading total to nine, while goalkeeper Artus Cezar maintained a clean sheet throughout the match.

Coach JP Merida emphasized that securing the top four is crucial but noted that there are still more games left in the UAAP Season 87 eliminations and praised his team's performance.

Joaquin Collo opened the scoring in the 16th minute, followed by goals from Cariño and Fernando Roxas to seal a comprehensive win; Collo also assisted on Roxas' goal in the 87th minute.

Ateneo's goalkeeper Artus Cezar made several crucial saves in the second half to ensure the victory.

The Blue Eagles will face the Tamaraws on November 21, while De La Salle University will play against the University of the Philippines.
