Coach Baldwin faces pressure with Ateneo's 1-6 record

Ateneo coach Tab Baldwin acknowledged the significant pressure on his young team as they struggle to improve their standing in the second half of the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament.

The Blue Eagles currently have a record of 1-6, marking their worst start since the Final Four era began, following their loss to National University on Saturday evening.

Coach Baldwin emphasized that while age and inexperience are factors, they are not excuses for poor performance, noting issues with shooting accuracy and interior offense.

Baldwin challenged his players to live up to the expectations of their fellow Ateneans and repay the support given despite their shortcomings this season.

The coach stressed that handling pressure better is key as the season progresses, urging patience and sticking to basic strategies for improvement in an amateur environment.

Tuano leads the team in scoring with 11.14 points per game, while rookie Jared Bahay has struggled with a shooting percentage of just 25% from the field.
