Army reserve units aid Taal evacuees

Philippine Army reserve units, including the 401st and 402nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalions, are aiding Taal Volcano evacuees.

As of January 16, there were 277 reservists on the ground with more expected from Batangas and Cavite.

On January 13, around 50 active members of the Army Reserve Command rescued trapped residents in Talisay, Batangas, providing them with relief goods and necessities.

Philippine Army commander Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay distributed relief items to evacuees in Sto. Tomas, Batangas on January 14, aided by reservists from the 401st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion.
