DA upgrades Rolly farm damage to P5.79B

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has upgraded the estimate of agricultural damage caused by Typhoon Rolly to P5.79 billion, up from the previous estimate of P5.01 billion.

The typhoon affected 48,682 farmers across 127,298 hectares of farmland, resulting in a loss of 177,091 metric tons of agricultural output.

Affected regions include the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, and Eastern Visayas.

High-value crops suffered losses amounting to P2.05 billion with 97,130 MT of lost production volume.

As of November 10, the DA reported that damage from Typhoons Quinta and Rolly reached PHP7.66 billion, affecting around 162,693 hectares of farmland and impacting 89,259 farmers and fisherfolk across multiple regions.
