Tropical Storm Auring causes PHP102.98M damage

Tropical Storm Auring has caused PHP102.98 million in damage across the Philippines as of February 26.

Agricultural losses amount to PHP79.38 million in the Caraga region, while infrastructure damage totals PHP23.6 million in Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Davao, and Caraga.

The storm has affected a total of 64,056 families across several regions, with 1,045 families currently sheltered in evacuation centers and 246 staying with relatives or friends.

As of February 24, agricultural damage in the Caraga region alone was reported at over PHP21 million, affecting rice, corn, high-value crops, fisheries, livestock, and poultry.

Additionally, around PHP2.8 million worth of infrastructure damage was recorded in Caraga, including flood control facilities, with 12 roads and two bridges affected across multiple regions.

At least 226 houses were totally damaged and 453 partially damaged in Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao, and Caraga Regions.

The death toll remains at one person in Caraga, with two injured and four missing.
