Auring dissipated after affecting Caraga

Tropical Depression Auring dissipated on Tuesday, February 23.

Before dissipating, it affected at least 31,884 families in Caraga, particularly Surigao del Sur which was hit by floods and heavy rain.

Auring made landfall as a tropical depression in Northern Samar on Monday, February 22, before weakening into a low pressure area (LPA) and crossing Bicol region, southern Quezon, Marinduque, and northern Mindoro over the next 24 hours.

The LPA brought moderate to heavy rains to affected areas but had an increasing likelihood of dissipating while traversing Southern Luzon.
