Adamson sweeps UST in softball and baseball

Adamson University secured a decisive 7-0 victory over the University of Santo Tomas in their debut softball game of the UAAP Season 87 but also claimed an 11-4 triumph against UST in their first baseball tournament match on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

Kenneth Delos Santos led Adamson's pitching effort, holding UST to just four runs on five hits across seven innings before handing over to James Nisnisan who kept UST scoreless for the remainder of the game.

Adamson capitalized on key moments in the fourth inning when Joao Severino hit a deep ball to left field followed by John Mark Tupig's triple and RBI hits from Lawrence Mercado and Kristan Reyes, leading them to an 11-4 win.

With this victory, Adamson now shares second place with UST, UP, and DLSU in the baseball tournament standings while National University leads with a perfect record. The league will take a break until March 19 when it resumes with more matches.
