PH Covid recoveries reach 1.5M

The Philippines' total number of recovered COVID-19 cases reached 1,515,054 on Monday, August 2, accounting for 94.4% of the total infections since the start of the pandemic.

New recoveries reported include 9,095 on Monday, bringing the recovery tally up from Sunday's 1,506,027.

Active cases increased to 62,615 with 8,167 new infections recorded on Monday, representing 3.9% of total cases.

The death toll rose by 77 new fatalities to a total of 28,093, or 1.75% of all cases.

On July 31, about 15.7% of those tested turned out positive for COVID-19.
