7-year-old boy from Zamboanga del Sur tests positive for COVID-19

A seven-year-old boy from Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur tested positive for COVID-19.

He had traveled to Iligan City on March 14 and 15, and developed symptoms like colds, coughing, difficulty breathing, and fever starting March 19.

The child was admitted to a private hospital in Pagadian City where he recovered by March 24 but his family was advised to self-quarantine.

His older brother in Iligan city is now considered a patient under investigation (PUI) due to direct exposure.

Local health officials are conducting contact tracing and monitoring the situation closely.
