Palace confident 50% of NCR population vaccinated by Aug 20

Malacañang expressed confidence on Monday that at least 50% of Metro Manila's target population will be vaccinated against COVID-19 by August 20.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said they are on track to vaccinate 50% of the region’s population, with around 230,000 doses administered daily since August 6.

Last week, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III reported that NCR is almost 40% towards its target of vaccinating 10 million residents for herd immunity.

Six Metro Manila LGUs—San Juan, Marikina, Mandaluyong, Manila, Navotas, and Pateros—have already reached the 'population protection' target by fully vaccinating more than half of their respective target populations.
